Israel, with its Aura of sanctity welcomes a constant stream
of pilgrims of all faiths. This tour is a trip through
time and the holy Christian sites of Israel.
Day 1
Arrival
Arrive at Ben Gurion airport where you will be met and transferred
to your Netanya hotel.
Day 2 Caesarea
- Acre - Tiberias
Depart to Caesarea, capital of the Roman procurators of Judea,
where you will visit the aqueduct and amphitheatre before
continuing to Meggido, where recent excavations have unearthed
20 layers of civilisation. Drive to Haifa, ascending
to the top of Mount Carmel with spectacular views of the Mediterranean
sea and then continue to the Crusader port of Acre to enjoy
the beauty of this fishing port. Travel to the shores
of the Sea of Galilee before overnighting in Tiberias.

Day 3
Capernaum - Golan Heights
Today's travel takes you around the Lake and into the upper
Galilee. Board a boat to sail on the Sea of Galilee
and continue to Capernaum, Tabgha and the Mount of Beatitudes.
Drive through the Golan Heights to Dan, the most northern
point of Jesus' travels before arriving in Banias at the foot
of Mount Hermon, a holy place where Jesus won Peter's ringing
profession of faith. Return to Tiberias to overnight.

Day 4
Nazareth - Jericho
Visit the beautiful Baptismal site located where the Jordan
river flows from the lake and continue to Nazareth, a boyhood
home of Jesus. Drive through the Jezreel Valley to arrive
at Bet Shean, one of the ten ancient cities of the Decapolis
before arriving in Jericho, the oldest known city in the western
world. Here you will visit Elisha's fountain and Qarantal
as well as the Mount of Temptation. Overnight Jerusalem.

Day 5
Jerusalem
Today's programme begins with your ascent to the top of the
Mount of Olives. On to Mount Zion, the Upper Room, the
Tomb of King David, the pool of Siloam and the Church of Peter
in Gallicantu. Enter the old city via the Zion gate
to visit the newly restored Jewish quarter. Walk along
excavated Cardo, the ancient main street of Jerusalem dating
back to the time of Jesus. Visit the Crusader Church
of St Anne and the Arch of Ecce Homo before following the
Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. End
today with a visit to the Garden Tomb. Overnight Jerusalem.

Day 6
Jerusalem - Bethlehem
Drive to Bethlehem, birthplace of King David and Jesus.
Visit the church of Nativity, the Manger, Crusaders' Cloister
and the Grotto of St Jerome. Continue to Ein Karem,
birthplace of John the Baptist and home to Chagall's world
renowned Old Testament stained glass windows. Visit
the Model City which explains the look of Jerusalem during
the time of Jesus and then continue to the Israel museum where
the original Dead Sea Scrolls are housed. End today
with a visit to Yad Vashem, Israel's memorial to the Holocaust
and walk along Avenue of the Righteous, where trees have been
planted to commemorate the may Christians who helped save
Jewish lives during WWII. (B)
Day 7
Dead Sea - Massada
Descend through the Judean wilderness below sea level to the
shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Continue
to Massada, King Herod's the Great fortress. Ascend
by cable car to view this incredible site. Learn the
story of Jewish Zealots who suicided atop this fortress in
73 AD rather than becoming slaves to their Roman conquerors.
Time and weather permitting, enjoy a swim in the therapeutic
waters of the Dead Sea before returning to Jerusalem to overnight.

Departure
At leisure until your transfer to the airport. (B)
