Day 1:

Start your day with a visit to the Mosque Hassan II, dramatically sited at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Day 2:

Day 3:
Breakfast at your hotel.
Your expert guide awaits you to embark on a walking tour of Fes. Step back six centuries into the medieval world of Fes, whose narrow and cobbled streets are filled with ancient mosques and towering green-glazed minarets. Highlights of your private walking tour of Fes include the Medersa (Koranic University) Attarine, Foundouk Nejjarine, the shrine of Moulay Idriss II, countless souks and the famous tanneries.

Day 4:
Breakfast at your hotel.
Visit the Dar Batha Museum, with a particularly impressive pottery collection, dating to the 16th century. (Closed on Tuesday). See the stunning gates of the Royal Palace and explore the alleys of Fes el-Jdid.

Day 5:
Breakfast at your hotel.
Today, you will leave the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains and continue south along the Ziz River until it finally dies out in the Sahara desert and you arrive at the Tafilet oasis. As the last paved road ends at the edge of the oasis town of Erfoud, you leave the world behind as you continue on to a small oasis in the desert. Here you will find the Auberge Kasbah Derkaoua - a unique inn filled with ambiance and personality. Dinner at the Auberge.

Day 6:
Very early wake up as your 4x4 will be waiting for you as you continue your adventure by heading towards the legendary dunes of Erg Chebbi - considered by desert aficionados to be perhaps the largest dunes in the Sahara. Witness the sun rising from the east over the desert dunes: one of the greatest sights of Morocco. Maghreb, the Arabic name for Morocco, means the West; Morocco was at the very edge not only of the Islamic world, but of the known world.

After the sun has risen, you will be driven back to the desert in for breakfast. After breakfast, continue your 4x4 adventure in the Sahara desert. Explore the crumbling ruins of once-grand kasbahs, now half-buried by sand. These fortified outposts, including Sijilmasa, were for centuries the first signs of civilization for the trans-Saharan caravans after months of hardship on the open desert. As your adventure winds down in the late morning, return to the town of Erfoud.

Continue west to the scenic Todgha Gorges. Explore this area of dramatic natural scenery by car and, if you choose, on foot. Afternoon visit to the Dades Gorges, another area of wonderful scenery.
Continue west until you arrive at the Kasbah Ben Moro, a recently refurbished 17th century Kasbah on the outskirts of a lush oasis. Saved from ruin by its respectful development as a small hotel, one night at the Kasbah is a unique way to experience life in rural Morocco.

Please note this Kasbah does not have electricity between midnight and 6:00 AM.
Discover life in an oasis, find the nearby Tomb of the Marabout and walk to the lovely kasbah of Adilhil, whose owner is generally open to showing the occasional visitor through his kasbah.

Day 7:
Breakfast at your hotel. Leave Skoura and head west to the oasis of Ouarzazate – a former outpost of the French Foreign Legion. Spend the morning exploring the region around Ouarzazate. Visit the Kasbah Taouirirt and the UNESCO-restored Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Continue west through the Sousse Valley to the ochre-hued walled town of Taroudant called also the little Marrakech. Check in at Villa Doga a real guest house and SPA.Dinner at your hotel

Day 8:
Breakfast at your hotel.
Full day excursion south (1½ hours) to the startling landscape of Tafraoute and the Vallee des Ameln. Composed of crumbling sandstone, purple-shadowed pink granite, and thousands of date palms, visit stone villages cleaving to wind-eroded mountain slopes. Pink village houses are nestled among giant boulders. Wednesday is market day in Tafraoute. Return to Taroudant and explore the bustling marketplace of the walled city. Dinner at your hotel

Day 9:
Breakfast at your hotel. Head west to the Atlantic coast across the Sousse Plain through the three-million hectare Argan Biosphere, recently recognized by UNESCO. Goats precariously climb Argan trees in search of their small fruit, which is known for it’s unique flavor, as well as its ability to reduce cholesterol.

Pass through the beach resort of Agadir and head north along the coast to Essaouira. Near Tamanar, stop at the Women’s Argan oil collective. You will see first hand how the oil is extracted from the nut and have a chance to taste this delicacy. Upon arrival in Essaouira, check in at Riad l’heure bleue,
Late afternoon at leisure to wander about the enchanting streets and alleys of laid-back Essaouira − the setting in 1952 for Orson Welles’ Othello. Once known as Mogador, Essaouira’s blue and white medina was recently named a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 10:
Breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast you will be escorted to Marrakech.
Marrakech is being recognised as one of the world’s great cities. With the design flair of Paris, the ethnic diversity of New York, the commercial heartbeat of Hong Kong and a history to rival any city in Europe, Marrakech is above all a city of heart and soul – a city of sunlight on rough pink walls, of fragrant piles of richly-hued spices and of rose-petals floating in slowly-trickling fountains. Upon arrival, check in at La Sultana. Your expert guide will meet you at your hotel to embark on a private walking tour of the ancient medina of Marrakech.

The defining landmark of Marrakech is the 12th century tiled minaret of the Koutoubia mosque and there is no better place to begin your venture into this entrancing city. Explore the colourful souks (marketplace) of Marrakech. Each trade − spices, carpets, jewellery, enamel, copper, brass and cedar − is situated in its unique quarter. In the early evening, head towards the frenetic Djemaa el Fnaa − the greatest square in all of Africa – and perhaps the world.

Day 11:
Breakfast at your hotel. Continue your private walking tour of Marrakech with your expert guide.
Highlights of your visit include the Majorelle Gardens, the Saadien Tombs, the medieval Medersa (koranic university) Ben Youssef. Near the Medersa are two of the more interesting cultural showplaces in Marrakech: The Musee de Marrakech and the Dar Bellarj cultural foundation. Explore the Dar Si Said Museum of traditional crafts housed in a 19th century palace, and the ruins of the vast Badi’a Palace. Dinner at a good Moroccan restaurant.

Day 12:
Breakfast at your hotel. Full day excursion to Kasbah Toubkal Situated at the foot of Jbel Toubkal - the highest peak in North Africa. A Berber hospitality A centre for groups and individuals. The Kasbah is perched on a great rock outcrop above the main village of Imlil with panoramic views of the mountains, valleys and waterfalls. It is reached by a short walk or mule ride from the village of Imlil.

So impressive is the scenery that film director Martin Scorsese chose Imlil as one of the locations for `Kundun`, his film about the Dalai Lama, temporarily transforming The Kasbah into a Tibetan monastery. It is a special place beyond the reach of the modern world - don`t miss this opportunity.
You will enjoy trek climbing the Atlas Mountains and a Bio Berber lunch at Kasbah Toubkal.

DAY 5, MARRAKECH
After breakfast, full-day tour of the city of Marrakech.
The defining landmark of Marrakech is the 12th century tiled minaret of the Koutoubia mosque (the twin tower of la Giralda in Sevilla, Spain) and there is no better place to begin your venture into this entrancing city. Visit the Menara, a magnificent pool surrounded by flowers, reflecting the image of a beautiful Moorish construction built in 1866 for the dignitaries. See glorious sunsets with the Atlas Mountains as a backdrop. Also, the pool is a functional irrigation system to the surrounding areas.

Visit the opulent Saadien Tombs (the mausoleum of a great dynasty which once ruled North Africa).

Explore the colourful souks (marketplace) of Marrakech. Each trade − spices, carpets, jewelry, enamel, copper, brass and cedar − is situated in its unique quarter.
